Roles & Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement and Service : Greet customers warmly, engage in friendly conversation, and assist them in locating and choosing garments.
    Provide information on fabrics, garment quality, and trends to enhance customer shopping experiences.
    Address customer questions and resolve any concerns or complaints efficiently.
     
  • Sales and Upselling: Actively promote products to encourage sales and upsell additional items when possible.
    Offer recommendations based on customer preferences and suggest complementary garments.
    Meet and aim to exceed daily and monthly sales targets set by management.
     
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the clothing products, including materials, pricing, sizes, and style options.
    Stay updated on the latest arrivals and fashion trends to inform customers accordingly.
     
  • Merchandising and Stock Management: Assist in displaying garments attractively to draw customer attention.
    Monitor inventory levels, alerting management when stock needs replenishment.
    Organize and maintain a tidy and presentable display area at all times.
     
  • Handling Transactions: Process customer purchases through the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
    Handle cash and card transactions, ensuring that all payments are completed smoothly.
    Manage return and exchange procedures in line with store policy.
     
  • Collaboration with Team: Coordinate with other sales associates and support them in peak hours to ensure customer needs are met.
    Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve sales techniques and product knowledge.
     
  • Feedback Collection: Gather customer feedback on garment preferences, satisfaction, and suggestions, and report insights to management.
    Propose ideas to improve the shopping experience or optimize sales based on customer interactions.
     

Desired Candidate Profile

 

Nationality and Language

  • Nationality: Sri Lankan
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; knowledge of Sinhala or Tamil is an advantage for better communication with fellow team members and customers from diverse backgrounds.

Experience and Skills

  • Sales Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of experience in retail, specifically in garments, fashion, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Customer Service Skills: Friendly, approachable, and excellent at handling customer inquiries and concerns with patience.
  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills in English; ability to engage customers warmly and helpfully.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Comfortable working in a multicultural environment, appreciating diverse customer backgrounds.
